My last name is pronounced "new"

I am a researcher in the Theory Lab at Huawei 2012 Labs. Prior to that, I worked in the Cognitive Computing Lab at Baidu Research. I obtained my Ph.D. in Operations Research at Purdue University in 2021. I received my B.S. in Mathematics in 2016 from the School of Mathematical Sciences, Peking University, China.

Research Interests

I am broadly interested in Information Theory, Machine Learning, and Complex Systems. Many big challenges in science, engineering, and society involve complex systems. Collectively, the behavior of interacting individuals is often non-linear. I have previously worked on measuring and characterizing the contributions of the various components using information theory. I am looking to extend my research through quantum computing, machine learning, and most recently functional compression.
